Your Bio

In 1998 I started having memory problems but had no idea why. I picked up a camera and started taking tons of pictures to help preserve memories. After taking photos of a tornado on a point and shoot, I realized I wanted a better camera. That Christmas I got my first 35mm SLR. I learned to use it and found a special love for nature/scenic photography.

In 2004 I thought it may be all over. I became blind in my left eye, and days later became virtually unable to walk. I spent 10 days in the hospital with a diagnosis of MS (multiple sclerosis). This also explained the memory problems years earlier. I vowed to never give up, and to get back to hiking and photography quickly. A month after my diagnosis and days after my wedding I was out again taking pictures. I've had difficulty walking on occasion since then, but use my love of outdoor photography to motivate myself to work hard and regain my strength and balance.

Every photo here has been taken since I was diagnosed. Every one represents another challenge and victory in my battle against MS.
